Airan Berg will be leaving Maastricht VIA2018 at the end of 2011 to take on the role of ‘Geschäftführer Projektmanagement’ at Mannheim 2020.
Airan Berg, who was a member of the artistic team of VIA2018 since January 2010 and mainly responsible for the VIA2018 school project, will be leaving Maastricht at the end of the year, to start his new position in Mannheim in January 2012.
The VIA2018 School Project, one of the major research projects of 2011, has involved 30 international and local artists working with teachers and students in 20 schools throughout the Maas-Rhein Euregio. The project, which was an adaptation of the Linz09 school project, will be concluded at the end of the year. This project was a first stepping stone to come to a positioning of education in the candidacy of Maastricht, in collaboration with the Euregion.
The Foundation Maastricht Cultural Capital of Europe 2018 and Airan Berg are satisfied with the collaboration and success of the school project and wish each other much success in their future endeavours.
