To be able to submit the bid book in early 2012, it is important – in view of the short period of time available – to take simultaneous initiatives. This multi-initiative approach will allow us to compile the required input for the bid book within the limited time available.
Countless specialists are currently at work exploring the potentials of the Euroregion. Based on an analysis of the current situation, they are searching for future-oriented answers relating to the four pillar aspects. These answers may lead to distinctive and significant developments on a European scale.
Europe is changing. It is important to anticipate European developments in 2018. Visionary approaches provide interesting outlooks that result in greater depth for the bid book.
The potential of the universities in Aachen, Maastricht, Diepenbeek and Liège will be used to develop specific sub-theme arguments for the Maastricht European Capital of Culture 2018 candidacy process.
By means of research and the INTERREG projects, experimental insight and experience will be gained with the aim of releasing and combining the potential of the region, thereby making it accessible. Moreover, we expect this to result in important impulses for innovation. The insights obtained will be converted in the bid book into long-term strategies.
